Medical and Martial God

Chapter 623: Invisible - 623

Chapter 623: Invisible - 623

"A master has arrived!"

Ye Xiu looked at the message from Gong Jin, his eyes narrowing as a cold light flashed within them. He then called Meng Yinwan.

"Does everyone from the Restorer Alliance in Nanjing know that you’re not dead?" he asked.

In truth, when Lin Xin had used his Purple Pupil to control the black-clothed, masked man, he had failed to notice a Ming Feng Tower intelligence operative hiding nearby. It wasn’t just Lin Xin; the masked man himself had been hiding in the tree for a long time without detecting the operative. This was the true prowess of Ming Feng Tower’s intelligence personnel. While their martial strength might be average, their skills in espionage and reconnaissance—infiltration, tracking, and counter-tracking—absolutely crushed those of their peers worldwide.

"Yes," Meng Yinwan replied. "What’s the matter?"

"Notify them to come to my location immediately. You come too, and be quick about it!" Ye Xiu ordered.

"We’re preparing to ambush the people from the Eternal Kingdom. Can we come see you tomorrow?"

"Now. Immediately," Ye Xiu said, his tone allowing no argument.

"Oh, alright then!"

After hanging up, Ye Xiu put on the Huang Quan Suit and rushed toward Unparalleled Mountain. He had to kill the person Lin Xin was controlling. Otherwise, if Lin Xin were to hypnotize and interrogate him, the secret of Meng Yinwan’s survival would be exposed, placing Qin Qing and Leng Yue in grave danger.

At four-thirty in the morning, Lin Xin finally arrived at Unparalleled Mountain, stepping on the shoulders of the black-clothed, masked man he had brought with him. Kristina had been waiting for a long time.

"Lin Xin?" she asked, taken aback. "Why did Father send you?"

Lin Xin was the King of the Eternal Kingdom’s eldest son. At thirty-five years old, a man of his importance was not supposed to be mobilized at this stage of the plan.

"Little Princess." Lin Xin jumped down from the masked man’s shoulders and offered a respectful greeting. He then puffed out his chest, a confident smile spreading across his face. "Father said that the ambush our thousand-man squad suffered in Nanjing proves the Restorer Alliance has built a precise and vast intelligence network here, with a brilliant strategist in command. So, he sent me to assist you."

Kristina mulled over Lin Xin’s words. It was true; why hadn’t she thought of that herself? In any case, it was quite fitting for the King to send Lin Xin to assist her. In their fight for succession, the King’s sons had all become masters of scheming and intrigue. Sending Lin Xin to Nanjing to outmaneuver the Restorer Alliance was the perfect choice!

"Who’s this?" Kristina asked, pointing at the black-clothed, masked man.

Lin Xin shrugged. "Someone I ran into on the way. Probably from the Restorer Alliance."

"Probably?" Kristina was speechless. "You didn’t interrogate him on the way here?"

"Such trash isn’t worthy of my interrogation," Lin Xin stated haughtily.

Kristina was speechless again but didn’t blame him; she knew his type was arrogant to the core and insufferably boastful. "Then interrogate him now," she said. "Ask him where the Restorer Alliance’s hideout in Nanjing is, how many members they have, and what their strengths are."

"Fine." Lin Xin nodded. He turned to the masked man and commanded, "Answer the Little Princess’s questions!"

"Yes!" the man nodded woodenly. Just as he was about to speak, his head suddenly tumbled from his neck.

"Who was that?" Kristina and Lin Xin exclaimed, whipping their heads around, but they saw nothing.

"To kill this man right under your nose, a Fifth Realm War God, without you noticing and then vanish without a trace... that person is very powerful," Kristina said gravely.

"Powerful, but not that powerful," Lin Xin said with disdain. "If he were stronger than me, he would have come to kill me already. He must have used some kind of Unique Saber Technique or Swordsmanship, making the Sword Qi invisible to slice this cur’s head off."

Kristina figured he had a point, but she was still annoyed. "What a pity. We could have gotten intelligence on the Restorer Alliance from him and wiped them out in one fell swoop. What a waste..."

"Don’t be upset, Little Princess. Now that I am here, I will hunt down and kill every last member of the Restorer Alliance hiding in Nanjing in very short order," Lin Xin declared with incredible confidence. He then glanced down at his blood-stained attire. "Ugh, my clothes. Little Princess, I didn’t bring a change of clothes on this trip. Please allow me to go buy some. Wearing these is simply disgusting."

Kristina rolled her eyes. "Go on, then. Be quick about it!"

Lin Xin nodded and shot down Unparalleled Mountain at full speed. He didn’t want to wear the soiled outfit for a second longer, so he sprinted, trying to reach a clothing store as fast as possible.

Meanwhile, Kristina remained at the summit of Unparalleled Mountain, waiting for the others to arrive.

People began trickling in at the break of dawn. At nine in the morning, Lin Xin returned. From that point until noon, no one else arrived.

"Two hundred seventy-eight people?"

Kristina and Lin Xin stared at the group gathered at the foot of the mountain, their expressions grim.

"The Eternal Kingdom sent 1,001 people," Kristina stated. "Counting you, only 279 made it to Unparalleled Mountain. That means we’ve lost 722 people."

Lin Xin felt as if he had been slapped across the face. He, the great Crown Prince of the Eternal Kingdom, had personally come, yet before the battle with the Restorer Alliance had even begun, they had already lost 722 people. If word of this got back to the Eternal Kingdom, his brothers vying for the throne would mock him endlessly.

"It seems the Restorer Alliance has many people lurking in Nanjing," he said coldly. "And their intelligence network is frighteningly accurate. They somehow knew the mountain routes those 722 people were taking."

Kristina nodded. "We underestimated the Restorer Alliance’s determination. It looks like we’ll have to send more people and get serious about our strategy in Nanjing."

"There’s no need. With these 278 men under my command, I have more than enough to annihilate every member of the Restorer Alliance in Nanjing," Lin Xin stated with unshakable confidence.

The words had barely left his lips when a massive explosion erupted from within the crowd of 278 people below. It was immediately followed by a chain reaction of blasts, catching everyone completely off guard.

"What... what’s happening?" Kristina’s face turned pale.

Lin Xin asked, "Back when Yue Longxuan planted countless landmines to trap Huang Quan, did you make sure to remove them all afterward, Little Princess?"

"If they were landmines, they would have gone off long ago!" Kristina snapped.

Lin Xin faltered for a moment. That was right—landmines exploded the instant they were stepped on. Since the 278 men had been at the foot of the mountain for a long time, the blasts shouldn’t be happening only now. An idea suddenly flashed in his mind. "They’re remote-controlled bombs! Someone planted them around Unparalleled Mountain beforehand."

Lin Xin was right. Ye Xiu had previously used the Power of the Earth System Totem to remove all the landmines Yue Longxuan had buried. Afterward, he had his people plant remote-controlled bombs all around Unparalleled Mountain. It was originally just a casual move, but it had yielded such unexpectedly good results.

"Go see how many are still alive," Kristina ordered.

Lin Xin immediately descended the mountain. After checking each person, he returned with a dark expression. "Out of 278 people, only 29 survived, and all of them are severely injured."

Kristina took a deep, furious breath. "Do you still have the confidence to take these 29 men and eradicate all the Restorers in Nanjing?"

Feeling extremely awkward, Lin Xin changed the subject. "At this point, we should first focus on finding a way to heal these 29."

"Ye Xiu is the best at that sort of thing. I’ll have him here with one phone call." Kristina took out her phone and dialed Ye Xiu’s number. A recorded voice answered, "The number you have dialed is currently switched off..."

That damned Ye Xiu! He was never around when you needed him!

Kristina’s face twisted in anger. "Gather the wounded. We’re going to Wu Family Fortress to find Ye Xiu."
